Over the past several months many of our customers have been asking to have payments automatically taken from their bank accounts. The wait is over. With Direct Debit you will no longer need to drive to our office on a cold winter’s day or leave your backyard on a warm summer’s day to pay your bill. Your payments will be taken directly from your account each month, and you will never have to write another check.
Even though payments will be deducted from your account, you will still receive a bill each month. You will have time to review your bill and call us with any questions you have before your account is debited. Once you have signed up, your bill will say “DO NOT PAY-DIRECT DEBIT ON MM/DD/YYYY”. The amount of your current bill will be debited on the date listed in the message.
Direct debit is open to any Massena Electric customer with an active account.
Please complete the enrollment form below, and return to Massena Electric along with a BLANK, VOIDED CHECK. The completed form and blank, voided check can be returned to our office at 71 E. Hatfield St., or left in one of our night drop boxes.
After you have signed up for the Direct Debit program, the bottom of your monthly bill will say “DO NOT PAY-DIRECT DEBIT ON MM/DD/YYYY”. Do not send a payment for your account once you see this on your bill.
If you decided to change banks, or would like a different bank account debited, you will need to fill out another enrollment form and provide a new BLANK, VOIDED CHECK.
If there are insufficient funds in your account at the time of withdrawal, you will be notified immediately. A $15.00 insufficient funds charge (NSF) will be incurred. The NSF charge, along with the amount that was scheduled to be withdrawn from your account will need to be paid immediately. If this happens more than two times during a 12-month period, Massena Electric will remove you as a Direct Debit customer.
